Born Ayanda Tsela in 1991, Kena is a music prodigy with a unique style and creativity and rhymes in English and Vernec and proudly represents Kasi Life and Kasi rap music.
Kena started his journey in the industry in 2004. It all started in Mobeni in 2004 when he first heard Pro spit, then more inspiration came from someone he personally calls a godfather of Swazi hip-hop, Mil-G. He then went on to team up with best friend Inborn (Lwazi Khumalo) and they formed a group called 6049.
They however had to split because Inborn had to go study in South Africa. He then formed a group with his schoolmates (Jona, Ncash and Mbiza, Zoo later joined as the group as Mbiza’s replacement because he also left for South Africa to study. They called themselves Ibutho.He left Ibutho to start a solo career thus resulting to his first solo track "What if” which he says will always be his favorite track.
His first performance was at House On Fire (Malkerns, Swaziland), as a poet though. He has not looked back since and has since established himself as a performing and recording artist. Kena has worked with Psycholution, M14, Ghetto Villah, KasiSwaggBoi, he has also worked with DJs: DD Cool, DJ Tendeness, DJ MBO; has curtain raised for Artists like AKA, Dr Malinga and has worked with other upcoming artists.
Kena is currently signed to Creativity Parlour. He released several chart topping hits such as "Dlala" in which he featured rappper M-Forteen, "Tjovo", as well as "Kaslami" and "SoyaKENAmos" which was produced by the talented Mozaik The Producer of Claiming Ground Records. "Kaslami and SoyaKENAmos' " are in his LP tittled Hiphop Is Universal LP.
After being in the game for such a long time Kena will finally releasing his debut project the HIPHOP IS UNIVERSAL LP, in which he featured great established and upcoming artists alike, the likes of: Psycholution, Crakerboy, Ndosh, Slotta, Mozaik, Ndosh, Belinda, Paige, Ghetto Villah, to name a few.
